Brief History of the organization

There is a brief history behind the foundation of Moyna Ramkrishnayan Association. Mrs. Jayasri Maiti, The Foundress of this organisation, meet Mother Teresa during her duty at the wood burn ward in S.S.K.M. Hospital, Kolkata Mother`s holy hand touched her head. This blessing of Mother inspired Mrs. Maiti greatly to do something for serving the needy and poor people. Then social entrepreneur, Mr. Sasanka Maity who is initiated of Sri Ramakrishna Dev and greatly inspired by Swamiji`s ideal – `Serving man is worshipping God ‘made one organisation namely Moyna Ramkrishnayan Association for the development of the helpless backward classes and for imparting education, health and rehabilitation Service to all type of children (able and disable).The name, Ramkrishnayan itself suggests that this organisation is founded inspired by the ideals of Sri Ramakrishna Dev. In the year1992, this organisation was registered by the Society Act, Govt. of West Bengal, after rendering relent less Service for eight years, then in the year 2000, after rendering relent less service for eight years, Mrs. Maiti & Mr. Maity along with some other dedicated social worker Mr. Bidyut Maiti proposed a residential special school for the Blind &Mentally Retarded children. It was started firstly in a Rental house, five years later own land was parched and new construction was started at HarkuliBhanderchak, Moyna.
